Open toe shoes
I've noticed lately that there have been instances of wearing open toed shoes. After much consideration and jabbering with the higher ups I have to keep the no open toe shoe rule. As much as I would like to say "oh go ahead and wear them, but don't come crying to me when you break your toe," I am not allowed to do that. So please follow the shoe rules, even though it's hot outside.

Mixed Carts
Hey everybody, someone told me yesterday about finding a couple of carts that were supposed to be in order, they had the signs on them but when they started to shelve them they had fiction and mystery books interfiled. Please pay attention and be careful when you are building carts. Make sure you have all fiction or all mystery.
We had to finish the time sheets early this week because of Labor Day so when you come to sign in and your time sheet has disappeared, don't panic. You won't have to sign in again until next Monday, August 29th. Should your schedule change this week to something besides what we turned in, those hours will have to be made up.

DVD instructions
Ok so here's what everyone seems to agree on for DVD cleaning and shelving. (BTW Jen I'm stealing your notes on this.)
1. Sort dvds/cases by Genre
2. Put in order (A-Z; A on top)
3. Remove and clean/flap discs
4. Clean cases
5. Put clean cases and disks on cart, with discs on the top shelf and cases on the bottom.
6. Put the dvds and cases away (make sure you don't forget this part :P )
Notes:
* Genres need to stay together
* If there are a lot of stacks of the same genre they need to be divided into smaller stacks, however these smaller stacks should not be A-Z, but instead be divided into three sections. The first should be A-F, then G-N, and finally O-Z.
Jen commented to Josh that the reason she does this is:
It takes less time to make bigger piles. She collects the entire genre and then when sorting does the 2-3 sorting piles, and sort them into the smaller stacks and puts them in order. It also saves time when shelving in circulation.

The Beginning!
Thanks Sarah for suggesting this (at least I think it was Sarah). We can discuss any page issues or questions you have on here.
